Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Terri Claire Acupuncture ("we", "us", "our"). By booking, attending an appointment, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us 

Terri Claire Acupuncture is operated by Terri Paterson, trading as Terri Claire Acupuncture, based at 476 Kingston Road, London SW20 8DX.

2. Application of These Terms 

These Terms and Conditions apply to the supply of acupuncture and related complementary therapy services, and any incidental goods supplied in connection with those services. By booking or receiving services, you enter into a legally binding contract with us. 

3. Appointments, Late Arrivals, Cancellations, Packages 

We aim to provide a reliable and respectful service to all clients. To help us manage appointments fairly, the following policies apply. 

Cancellations 

• Cancellations/rescheduling appointments made more than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment will not incur a fee. 
• If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled time to avoid a charge. 
• Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice — or no‑shows — will be charged the full session fee 

Late Arrivals 

• If you are running late, please notify us as soon as possible using the contact details provided at the time of booking. 
• Please arrive on time for your appointment. Arriving late may shorten your session so we can stay on schedule for other clients. 
• If you are more than 20 minutes late, your appointment may be treated as a no-show, and the full session fee will apply. 

Packages 

• To support consistency and results, 5-session packages are valid for 3 months (90 days) from the date of purchase. We encourage clients to schedule sessions in advance to ensure availability and full use of their package. Unused sessions after the expiration date are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

4. Fees and Payment 

• Prices for services are fixed and are those in force at the time of booking. 
• Payment is due at the end of the treatment session, unless otherwise agreed in advance. 
• Payment must be made immediately upon receipt of an invoice (payment due within 0 days). 
• Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of booking. 
• Any applicable cancellation fees will be invoiced and must be paid promptly. 

5. Quotes 

Where quotes are issued, they are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless withdrawn earlier. Where no quote is issued, prices are those displayed or agreed at the time of booking. 

6. Supply of Services 

• All services are subject to availability. 
• We will provide services with reasonable skill and care, in accordance with professional standards for acupuncture and complementary therapies. 
• We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to services where required for safety, clinical appropriateness, or to comply with legal obligations. 

7. Customer Responsibilities 

You agree to: 

• Provide accurate and complete information about your health, medical history, and any treatments or medications. 
• Inform us prior to treatment if you have had Botox or dermal fillers in the past four months, as treatment may need to be postponed for safety reasons. 
• Follow reasonable advice and instructions given during or after treatment. 

Failure to provide relevant or accurate information may affect treatment outcomes and may result in services being refused or postponed. 

8. After-Sales Services 

We do not provide after-sales services. Any follow-up treatments, reviews, or additional services must be booked and paid for separately unless expressly agreed in writing. 

9. Goods and Manufacturer Guarantees 

Any goods supplied in connection with our services are incidental to the treatment. Customers do not receive the benefit of manufacturer guarantees through us, without prejudice to statutory consumer rights. 

10. Data Protection and Privacy 

Your privacy is important to us. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and all applicable data protection laws.

Information We Collect 

We may collect and store: 

• Personal data, including name, contact details, date of birth, and appointment history. 
• Health and treatment information, including consultation notes and treatment records, which constitute special category data. 

Use and Storage of Information 

• Information is stored securely in password-protected electronic systems. 
• Personal data is used solely for the provision of safe and effective treatment, appointment management, and necessary administrative purposes. 
• Your data is not shared with third parties without your consent, unless required by law or for insurance, regulatory, or complaint-handling purposes. 

Retention 

• Adult patient records are retained for seven years from the date of the last appointment. 
• Records for child patients are retained until the patient reaches 26 years of age. 
• Complaint records are retained for two years following resolution. 

Our privacy policies can be found by requesting a copy from us. 

11. Disclaimer and Clinical Information 

• Acupuncture is a complementary therapy and does not replace medical care from a qualified healthcare professional. 
• Results are not guaranteed, and individual responses to treatment vary. 
• You are encouraged to consult your GP or another healthcare professional for serious, persistent, or worsening medical conditions. 

You acknowledge that: 

• Acupuncture may cause temporary mild bruising or soreness at needle sites. 
• Cupping may cause red, purple, or bruised marks that typically resolve within one week. 
• Gua Sha may cause temporary redness or marking that usually fades within a few days. 
• Cosmetic acupuncture may cause mild bruising. 

12. Intellectual Property 

All content on our website and materials, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the intellectual property of Terri Claire Acupuncture unless otherwise stated. Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited without prior written consent. 

13. Limitation of Liability 

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to this, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was formed.

14. Complaints 

If a customer is dissatisfied with the services we have provided, they should contact us as soon as reasonably possible after the service has been completed so we can discuss the matter and, where appropriate, and agree a reasonable solution. Results are not guaranteed, acupuncture is a complementary therapy and does not replace medical care, and everyone responds differently to treatment. 

15. Amendments to These Terms 

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be published on our website and will take effect immediately. 

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction 

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, or where applicable, the courts of Scotland or Northern Ireland.
